Easy Slipper Size 5-9 Old Fashioned Wristlets
Materials: 2ozs 4 ply knitting worsted 1 set #6 knitting needles 1 #5F crochet hook Gauge: 6 sts = 1 inch 8 rows = 1 inch Cast on 34 sts Row 1: K2, * P2 K2, Repeat from * across row. Row 2: P2, * K2, P2, repeat these two rows once more. ** On next row include 1 st each end of needle and repeat. Increase row every 4th row twice more, forming new patterns as sts are increased. Work even on 40 sts for 3 rows, ending with a wrong side row. On the next row decrease 1 st each end of needle and repeat this decrease row every 4th row twice more. Work even on 34 sts for 3 rows, ending with row 2. Repeat from ** once more. Bind off in ribbing. Finishing: Work 1 row of sc around slipper holding into desired size. Trim with pom-poms. Instructions are for Childs and Adult small, Medium, and large sizes are in parentheses. Cuff: With # 3 dp sock needles, cast on and divide on 3 needles: Children: 30(34-38) sts Adults: 38(42-46) sts Join being careful not to twist sts. Work in K1, P1 ribbing for: Children: 3(3-3.5) inches Adults: 4(5-6) inches or desired length, for cuff. Work even in stock st: Children: 2 rnds (all sizes) Adults: 4 rnds (all sizes) Thumb Gusset: Rnd 1: Inc 1 st in first 2 sts, (all sizes), place marker ring on needle, finish rnd. Rnds 2 and 3 work even. Rnd 4: Inc 1 st in first st and last st before marker ring, finish rnd. Repeat rnds 3 and 4 until there are: Children 12(12-14) sts Adults 16(18-20) sts on thumb, finish rnd and work 1 rnd even. Divide Thumb & Hand Sts: Rnd 1: K first st, bind off the next: Children: 10(10-12) sts Adults: 14(16-18) sts Work to end of rnd, cast on: Children: 2(2-3) sts Adults: 3(3-4) sts Join rnd working first 2 sts tightly to close up gap. Finish rnd. Work even for: Children: ½ inch (all sizes) Adults: 1 inch (all sizes) Bind off. Work 1 row of sc around bound off edge of hand and thumb. Repeat for other wristlet.
